The Advan Buysider Issue6

The 6th issue of The Advan Buysider is now available. We've changed up what we are presenting and approaching it more as sector coverage. #6 added packaging (AMCOR / SEE / AVY), metals (NUE / STLD), and food distribution (SYY / USFD). As a reminder, The Buysider is designed to provide timely, novel, and impactful insights on specific names and topics using Advan’s data.

The takeaways from all the updates:
1) Observed activity picked up in Q3 vs. Q2's rate for both consumer and industrial names. Recall that we saw retail improve in September vs. the prior 3-month trend due to a strengthening in spending by the affluent and in housing-related retail.
2) Given the stronger trends at SYY and USFD, something interesting / unexplained is happening to the large vs. small restaurant industry.
3) Amazon enjoyed a nice lift in September, which we think is due to gains in same-day delivery of grocery items. And,
4) There's been a data drift issue in AltData this quarter, which likely results in more volatility when prints come in. With our forthcoming write-ups, read between the lines.
